DuPont Rigorously Prosecutes Krytox&reg High-Performance Lubricants Counterfeits and Brand Misuse in Europe

Geneva, February 2013 – DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts (DC&F) has detected and is currently investigating some cases of lubricating oils and greases potentially marketed illegally under DuPont’s protected Krytox ™ brand name. These items are neither supplied by authorized distributors of DuPont™ Krytox ™ high-performance lubricants nor have they been produced to exacting DuPont specifications and quality standards.

Accordingly, they are not warranted and may pose risks in terms of expected characteristics and performance.

“In France and Italy, we are gathering evidence of potential unauthorized distribution and illegal use of the Krytox ™ brand,” explains Andreas Poelchen, Marketing Manager Performance Lubricants Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts. We watch all our markets closely, not just key activities such as the automotive or corrugated board industry. We will initiate legal steps as necessary to protect our customers and distributors from potential risks associated with deficiencies in product quality and unfair competition. In France and Italy we have Samaro S.A.S. and Emanuele Mascherpa SpA as authorized distributors, who can provide support for all users of our unique fluorinated lubricants.”
