Epocast® 1617-A/B is a two-component syntactic epoxy, featuring low density and self-extinguishing properties, specifically designed for edge sealing of honeycomb composite structures. Qualified to BMS 5-28 Type 17, this lightweight system is easy to handle, offers high mechanical strength after curing, and cures to an off-white color. With a pot life of 60 to 90 minutes at room temperature, it allows flexible application in demanding manufacturing environments.

Thanks to its pasty viscosity and excellent workability, Epocast® 1617-A/B is perfectly suited for:

  • Edge sealing of honeycomb panels

  • Peripheral reinforcement of composite structures

  • Applications requiring low weight without compromising strength

  • Bonding composite components in aerospace environments

  • Use in processes compliant with BMS 5-28, Type 17
