Epocast® 1628 A/B is a two-component syntactic epoxy featuring ultra-low density and self-extinguishing properties, specially designed for reinforcing edges and filling honeycomb core structures in composite sandwich assemblies. Qualified to BMS 5-28, Type 28, this lightweight compound is supplied as a non-slumping paste, easy to apply with a spatula or trowel, offering excellent workability and handling.

Once cured, the material can be easily sanded or machined, making it ideal for finishing operations in aerospace production or repair environments.

Typical applications include:

  • Edge reinforcement of honeycomb panels

  • Filling of honeycomb cells in sandwich constructions

  • Bonding composite structures requiring weight savings without compromising strength

  • Aerospace applications conforming to BMS 5-28, Type 28
